Snappy Chef - From Humble Beginnings...
Snappy Chef began as a family business venture circa 1973. It was originally designed as a quaint neighborhood diner located on Logan Blvd. near Mansion Park. As a diner, Snappy Chef lasted only a few short years, but it left lasting memories of great meals served with care for every customer's needs. Snappy Chef was known for several of its weekly specialties, including a Cream of Potato Soup that was served every Friday.
...Comes a family tradition
In 1992, Chef Doug Simon moved to the area after purchasing The Casino at Lakemont Park. As one of the premiere catering establishments in the Blair County area, Chef Doug saw the opportunity to expand The Casino's brand of services to meet the growing needs of its client base. Off-premise catering was a natural direction to go, and by building on an already established clientele and resurrecting the old family business name, Snappy Chef Catering was reborn.
Snappy Chef has grown well beyond its initial expectations, providing a wide variety of catering services to an area that includes Altoona, Bedford, Johnstown, Huntingdon and State College. For weddings, social or business functions, Snappy Chef provides the highest quality of food and services, keeping in the original tradition of its founding family.
Snappy Chef Catering has earned a reputation among its loyal customers and community it serves as a favorite choice for catered functions. We hope you'll make Snappy Chef Catering part of your family tradition.
